Do you like Seafood?!?!

So I know that Bourdain and Three Sheetskind of gave Iceland a bad rap on their food BUT it seems as long as you're not celebrating Þorrablót , it's pretty damn good. The lamb is some of the best I've ever had (aside from in Turkey, but it's cooked and spiced differently so it nearly doesn't count) and the lobster and cod is so fresh, you basically watch them pull it out of the sea and onto your plate.

Our first night, Dan and I went to a restaurant that specializes in Icelandic fusion. We got the lobster appetizers, I had the lamb and Dan had the fish of the day, plaice. For dessert, we had a skyr mousse and OMGSOGOOD. Anyways, more pictures are forthcoming.

Iceland!

Dan and I landed hours ago, I'm sure of it. Except, all of our clocks are still on Philly time so I'm not really sure what time it is now. We took naps because we were both up until 4am on Thursday packing before and, uh, I dunno just exhausted. The ride got a little bumpy in the middle of it but otherwise uneventful. Oh yeah, except for the person who needed emergency medical assistance mid-flight but I guess everything turned out OK since there was no emergency landing. Thoughts while I'm all weird and jet-lagged:

-we left mounds and mounds of snow for Iceland and there's, like, almost no snow here at all and they're right about it not being that cold- it's probably right on par with New York temps right now
-it's true that there are no atheists in foxholes, or agnostics on planes, since every time we hit a bump i immediately start making my peace with god
-the Icelandair terminal at JFK probably has to be in one of the worst international terminals i've ever been in. only a mcdonald's and a duty-free store, are you serious?
-TONIGHT IS PRIME-TIME FOR NORTHERN LIGHTS VIEWING.

pictures will be forthcoming. carry on.
